An almost all new exterior created a fresh look on 50th Street for this commercial building.
Project Details
This project involved a façade upgrade to 801 50th Street East - MaXfield Inc. First, demolition removed an existing band of metal cladding, and a weathered wood canopy structure and landing pad. Structural work including new piles for a structural entrance slab along with HSS columns shaped a new canopy. New window locations were added to balance the façade, and the windows were upgraded throughout the building which required interior touch-up work. New VicWest metal cladding was strapped to the existing metal cladding to create a brand new exterior envelope. The existing overhead doors were painted, damaged panels were replaced, the doors were serviced, and glass panels were added to allow more light into the shop portion of the building. Additional exterior work included the relocation of a condenser, asphalt paving, new bollards, new sidewalks and landscaping, and a new feature free-standing, cantilevered sign can.
