We completely renovated a 1950s building on 8th Street East for Catterall & Wright. We gave the building a fresh look inside and out while maintaining its character.
Project Details
Catterall & Wright had their 4,000 square foot building at 1221 8th Street East completely renovated. Inside and out, Strata gave the building a fresh look including a new vestibule, a built-up parapet, and exterior windows. New interior layouts were devised for both the first and second floor, and both received new carpet and luxury vinyl tile flooring, new lighting, and new electrical and mechanical systems, including a new rooftop HVAC unit. The 1950s building was stripped back to its shell wherever possible: The wood truss roof system was exposed and painted white on the main floor, and the underside of the main floor’s concrete floor was scraped and painted to serve as the basement’s finished ceiling. New services were installed with the intent of leaving them exposed. The material palette, custom millwork, and glass walls were designed to enhance the bright, modern look and feel of the office.
