This historical building underwent a huge face lift, standing as a two-storey building, previously with a third story in the 70’s. Strata was involved in restoring the building structurally and aesthetically.
Project Details
Strata completed a full renovation on this building which included the basement. The building has a concrete foundation and a timber structure over the 15,000 square feet. Both the interior and exterior were completely stripped down. Structural, mechanical, and electrical were all upgraded bringing this historical building up to code. The main floor includes a newly created lobby area with an elevator to access all floors. The ceilings throughout the building are exposed and any structural steel was coated with intumescent paint. On the exterior of the building, we added new perforated decorative panels. The building is composed of masonry, timber and exposed steel to give it a sharp industrial look. Fun fact about this building was that it used to be a 3 Storey-building and at some point in the ‘70’s the top floor was removed when the building was converted in to a night club.
