This home renovation and addition was truly a dream project for our Residential team at Strata. Although a very large home already, Strata was asked to complete an addition, with the intent of incorporating additional bedrooms and parking.

Project Details

We collaborated with Bldg Studio Inc. on the addition envelope and roof tie in/transition, and worked closely with the client on finalizing the interior detailing. This home boasts almost 10,000 square feet of completely renovated space, and is comprised of eight bedrooms, a third floor loft, nine bathrooms, two laundry rooms, two main floor kitchen islands, and a basement kitchenette. Some of the challenging components of this project entailed re-routing all of the mechanical and electrical (to open up the main floor staircase wall), removing a small bay window, and replacing it with a 18 foot wide by 8 foot high opening (maximizing the gorgeous river front view) and, with any home renovation, design on the fly...as renovations are never quite built exactly as they are drawn. But that is where we, at Strata, excel! Consistency was prominent throughout this home. With marble wall and floor tile in every bathroom, tumbled french limestone throughout the main floor and heavy traffic area's and smoked hardwood flooring everywhere else, this home truly sparkles. Pair that up with custom artisan metal work, from railings, to fireplace covers, to custom metal shower grids, this home, this project and these clients were truly one of a kind.
